A Quick Word About What’s Been Going On
Hey everyone,
I want to say something about a rumor that’s been going around. I’ve heard that the other candidate’s kids have been treated poorly because of the election. I don’t know all the details, and I’m not here to spread gossip, but if this is true, it’s not okay.
Kids Shouldn’t Be Pulled Into This
This election is between adults. It’s about the future of Okotoks, and what kind of leadership people want. But no matter who you’re voting for, one thing is clear; kids should be left out of it.
They didn’t sign up for this. They shouldn’t be treated any differently just because their mom or dad is running in the race. That’s not what our town is about.
This Campaign Is About Respect
From day one, I’ve said I’m running a positive campaign. I want to bring people together, not tear them apart. That means no name-calling, no low shots, and no going after people’s families, mine or anyone else’s.
If you’re supporting me, I hope you’re doing it because you believe in the kind of Okotoks we can build together, not because you want to knock someone else down. That’s not how I do things, and I won’t stand by if it’s happening.
We’re All Neighbours
At the end of the day, we all live in the same town. We go to the same stores, our kids go to the same schools, and we bump into each other at the rink or the grocery store. We don’t always have to agree; that’s normal. But we do need to show respect.
So let’s not make this ugly. Let’s keep it about the issues, the ideas, and the kind of future we want for Okotoks.
Thanks for Listening
Thanks for reading this post and for caring about our town. However this election turns out, I hope we come out of it stronger and still standing side by side as a community.
Take care,
Colin Langenberger
