After a whirlwind few months on the campaign trail, Amanda and I finally had the chance to slow down a bit this past weekend. We attended a retreat for the board of directors she sits on, and it couldn’t have come at a better time. The setting was beautiful, the company was great, and it gave us both the chance to breathe, reflect, and enjoy some much-needed downtime after the busy election season.
It’s funny, when you’re in the middle of a campaign, everything moves a mile a minute. Taking a moment to step back reminded me just how special this community is and how grateful I am for everyone who’s been part of this journey.
A Heartfelt Thank You
Even though the results didn’t go our way this time, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported the campaign. Whether you helped put up signs, shared posts online, chatted with me at the doors, or simply offered words of encouragement, every bit of it mattered.
Running for mayor gave me the incredible opportunity to meet so many of you, hear your stories, and learn more about the hopes and challenges in our town. I’m proud of the positive, ideas-driven campaign we ran, and I’m even prouder of the community spirit I saw along the way.
Still Here, Still Involved
Just because the election’s over doesn’t mean you won’t see me around! I’ll still be out at local events, cheering on our teams, supporting our local businesses, and staying involved wherever I can.
Serving this community has never been about a title, it’s about showing up, listening, and contributing however possible. So whether it’s through volunteering, advocacy, or just being part of the conversation, you can still Count on Colin to be here and to care deeply about Okotoks.
What’s Next?
For now, I’m taking a bit of time to reflect, spend time with family, and think about what’s ahead. But if there’s one thing this campaign has confirmed for me, it’s how much I love this town and believe in its potential.
I’m not done being involved, not by a long shot. So while nothing’s official yet, let’s just say you might be able to Count on Colin again in four years.
Thank you again for your trust, your kindness, and your support. It’s been an honour to be part of this journey with you.
Colin Langenberger
Count on Colin!
