Okotoks, we’ve got a chance coming up to shape the next four years of our town. Advanced voting starts this Saturday, October 11, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Viking Rentals Centre (204 Community Way).

That’s your head start. If you can’t make that first day, there are two more advanced voting dates:

  • Monday, October 13, 2025 — 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday, October 15, 2025 — 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

All advanced voting is at the Viking Rentals Centre (204 Community Way).

And then Election Day itself is Monday, October 20, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Voting locations are spread out so folks can go where it’s easiest:

  • Viking Rentals Centre — for residents south of the Sheep River
  • Okotoks Recreation Centre — for those north of the river or east of Northridge Drive
  • D’Arcy Ranch Golf Club — for residents north of the river and west of Northridge Drive

Why Your Vote Really Counts

You might hear people say “one vote doesn’t matter.” I disagree — your vote does matter. It’s not just a checkmark; it’s your chance to help set the tone, the priorities, the values, and the direction for Okotoks for the next four years.

The people we elect will make decisions about infrastructure, growth, parks, taxes, community amenities, and so much more. So when you vote, you’re not just choosing a name — you’re choosing how Okotoks will grow, what we invest in, and how we treat each other as neighbours and community.

What You Need to Know Before You Go

  • You don’t need an election package in the mail to vote, just bring valid ID.
  • Because of changes in the law, you need to register to vote (if you haven’t already). The deadline to register in advance was September 15, but you can still register in person at your voting station.
  • When you go to vote, you’ll be asked for ID. If you’re already on the voters list, you’ll need one piece of government‑issued photo ID.
  • If you’re not registered, or your address has recently changed, you may need to show one ID with your name, photo and address, or two pieces of ID showing name and address.
  • If you absolutely can’t make any of the advanced voting days or Election Day, there is an option for a special ballot — but there are rules and deadlines, so reach out early.

Let’s Do This Together

I encourage every resident of Okotoks who’s eligible to make a plan to vote. Whether that’s this Saturday, one of the other advanced voting days, or October 20 — your voice deserves to be heard.

We have an opportunity here to choose what kind of town we want to live in. Let’s make sure we don’t leave that choice to chance.

And more than that, I hope you’ll take that moment to get out and vote to help guide Okotoks forward.

Colin Langenberger
Candidate for Mayor of Okotoks

Count on Colin!
