Local Residents Who Understands Everyday Challenges

Colin Langenberger candidate running for mayor of Okotoks, 2025, with his family

For over 12 years, I’ve called Okotoks home with my wife, Amanda, and my children, Sam, Luke and Jennifer; our family is rounded out by our two dogs, Rolo and Twix. Like many families here, we’ve faced challenges and celebrated milestones that connect us deeply to this community.

I have spent my life living in Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories, and Alberta. The farthest north I’ve ever travelled was to Pond Inlet. I love the west, and the north, and am happy that I’ve had the pleasure to live here. I’ve had a diverse career including Red Seal Electrician, Design Drafter in the mining industry, stay at home dad, and small business owner.

Amanda started out in southern Ontario and started moving west when she completed her Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering. She managed to move west, one province at a time, until we came to live in Okotoks. In 2019, she went back to school to gain her Master’s of Business Administration which was an impressive undertaking. Not only did she work on her Master’s while working full time, she is also the first in her family to receive a graduate degree. She is now using these skills in her professional life and while volunteering as the Vice Chair on a non-profit board of directors and as a mentor.

Community Involvement That Runs Deep

  • Six years volunteering in the Okotoks Scouts as a leader in Cubs and Scouts.
  • Supporting school trips with my children
  • Active in local hiking, golfing and woodworking circles.

We’ve always believed leadership begins with service.
